For over four decades, the Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter has been dedicated to bestowing scholarships upon deserving students of color during their senior year of high school. The Floretta A. Clancy Memorial Scholarship, established in memory of Charter member Clancy, who passed away in July 1973, is presented on an annual basis. To date, we have granted scholarships totaling more than $50,000.
Our youth programs are thoughtfully crafted to equip young girls with the essential tools they need to embrace their inner strength and recognize their inherent worth. Following each session, our aim is for these young girls to depart with a strong sense of positivity and empowerment, fully prepared to embrace the world with their unique brand of Black girl magic. Please review our youth programs below.

Dr. Betty Shabaaz Delta Academy
"Embracing Girl Power on Purpose" The Delta Academy program servicing girls (ages 11 -14) remains one of the Sorority’s most influential program, as it embodies all aspects of our mission and is reflective of what our Founders stood for. Delta chapters across the world are teaching our young girls how to be healthy, ambitious and confident leaders, as they strive for academic excellence. We want our girls to embrace their girl power on purpose. |
EMBODI
Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence Designed to refocus Delta’s efforts to collaborate with other organizations to address the plight of African American males. Both informal and empirical data suggests that the vast majority of African American males continue to be in crisis and is not reaching its fullest potential educationally, socially and emotionally. EMBODI is designed to address these issues through dialogue, and recommendations for change and action. |
